Nui's space

haha...since i uploaded the pic of my first design of this semester, maybe i should explain it a bit (and at the same time, i can practice my presentation ma...keke)

um... how should i start...the usual way then...

the topic of this design is food stall... the location is at a cross road surrounded by lots of tall tress... those tress in my model r the original trees there, preserved (i didnt chop it off)...

the main idea is to create two space... a mini-plaza and a sitting-area (or maybe sort of like a coffee shop la), seperated by the floorings, which at the same time related to the roof and the screen through having similar design... the flooring also has a purpose of leading people toward the coffe shop area, sort of like a path...

the complicated design on the roof, screen and the ground is the abstract form of tree branches intersecting each other, which reflected the surrounding enviroments, and thus, creating the atmosphere of beloging to the nature and the feeling of serenity among the disorder of a cross road...

i chose the main building the shape of a trapezoid becuz it faces the crossroad, and not just one road... another reason is becuz the shape of the building makes the roof comes in form of a parallelogram which mirrored the way how the sidewalk trees r planted in china (also in parallelogram shape)...

even though my advisor liked my design, but there's a lot of prob with it... first of all, the door aint suppose to be facing the crossroad...and instead, i should hide it at the other side of the building (this is becuz i concentrated too much on the details that i forgot to move the door..hai...stupid me)... and my advisor also said that i only 60% of what he had expected.. man!!!! how much harder should i work?!!??!

well, this was a month ago and im glad it's over.. i wished i can work on it a bit more, cuz i still feel like it can turn out much better than this... anyway..as usual...give some comments lo... and that includes u too na, olieng...

this project is a so-called concept design... where u just design sth that's pretty abstract and somewhat hard to build... (duh...becuz it's abstract ma...)

haha...well...my topic was connection... so i designed a bridge that connect two buildings... even though the bridge is in it simplest form, but at the same time the form itself is not dull becuz it's twisted...

i know people would be screaming how the hell am i gonna walk in there, when the floor is not flat?!?!?!  haha...but think of it, can u ever find sth that is totally flat in nature?  (hint: the answer is no) so since human being been walking on rough surfaces for ages, my bridge wont hurt that much...right??

anyhow... the bigger model in front is the zoomed up version of the smaller one, cuz i cant just build a bridge without seeing natural light... it would be torturing for ppl to walk inside a totally encaged space... so the model ends up looking like an accordion...keke... but the good thing is that when u stand very far looking at it, it should look like the small one i built, cuz i believe this simplest form is the most expressive form...

well... leave some comments lo... it's ok to say u dun like it, and i dun mind at all... there is never a correct answer for art anyway... everyone look at art their own way ma...
